Favorite things: Korres Natural Skincare and Cosmetics

January 12, 2013

Korres has been one of my favorite skincare and cosmetic brands for a few years now, particularity because they are an all natural and herbal brand. The company was founded in Greece around two decades ago, and they remain to be the “fastest-growing natural skincare company.”

The Korres brand makes all of their products without harsh chemicals, uses all natural and herbal ingredients, helps organic farmers, supports local communities and protects natural resources around the world.

The brand is sold in stores worldwide, as well as in both Sephora and Ulta and sells for $35.00. I recently purchased a Moisturizer, which is one of my staple skincare items. Korres Natural Products Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening, Normal to Dry Skin is a 24-hour moisturizer and brightening cream. This moisturizer is made with Wild Rose Oil and all natural Vitamin C, said to reduce the appearance of fine lines and skin discoloration while leaving the skin fresh, hydrated and bright all day long. I use this cream once every morning underneath my make up, and the scent is enough to sell you! With just a dime-sized amount, the cream melts right into your skin and I instantly feel the softness and delicateness on my face.

Korres has made a brightening and moisturizing line of Wild Rose products called the Wild Rose Regimen Kit  it includes a Serum, Cleanser, Eye Cream and a mask. Very luxurious!

This moisturizer, like all of Korres products, are made with:

No mineral oil, no silicones, no parabens, no propylene glycol, no synthetic dyes, no retinol, and no animal by-products and animal testing!

Have you tried Korres skincare products or cosmetics?

Holiday Shopping: Sephora Value gift sets!

November 25, 2012

If you’re anything like me, you wait until the last possible second for holiday shopping. Every year right after Thanksgiving, I promise myself I will not let the time get the best of me, and I will really get my shopping done before Christmas. This is it, this will be the year. The year I will not be racing to the mall, trying to put together gift bags, rushing to get the perfect gifts together. I will not lose sleep, I will get it all done before Christmas morning.

Lip Glosses, Perfumes, Blush sets, Oh My!

Nars Kiss Mini Larger Than Life, $55 ($94 value)
Fragrance Sampler for Her, $50 ($105 value)
The Finest Shave: Deluxe Sampler for Him, $25 ($65 value)

This year, my closest girlfriends and family members will all be recieving value sets from Sephora. Sephora puts together these amazing gift sets, at reasonable prices, making them impossible to resist. Brands such as Tarte, Lorac, Nars and Korres put out best-selling beauty gift sets around this time of year. Even brands such as Philosophy and Soap and Glory put out skin care and shower sets. Also, Sephora releases perfume/cologne sampler sets which makes a great gift as well, for men and women!

I think these sets make the perfect gift for friends and family, and all are sold at reasonable prices. Each value set has nice packaging, so all that you’d need is a cute gift bag or bow on top!

What do you think of these Sephora holiday gift sets?

Review: Salon Series by Ouidad

August 12, 2012

Salon Series by Ouidad bloggers event at Sephora.

Last week I attended the Salon Series by Ouidad event at Sephora in NYC. The event was a launch of 3 new hair products from Ouidad- debuting exclusively to Sephora in a few weeks! Over fresh fruit and coffee, members from the Ouidad team educated us bloggers on the new products that have been in the making for years. The line consists of 3 products- Omega 3 Replenishing Hair Treatment, Biotin Lightweight Reparative Hair Serum, and lastly the Mediterranean Bay Leaf Exfoliating Hair & Scalp Treatment.

I see The Omega 3 treatment as more of a deep conditioning masque- it is made with flax seed oil, passion fruit oil,  acai pulp, as well as organic Macroloba oil, found in the Amazon rain forest, which helps to completely repair dry damaged hair.  I used this treatment after shampooing my hair, and kept it on for about 5 minutes while combing it through. The bottle says you may apply heat (with a blow-dryer) if you want. The consistency of the conditioner is amazing- lightweight, smooth and feels like silk. Immediately after I washed out the treatment I could feel a difference. After letting my hair air dry, it was SO soft!

The Biotin hair serum I applied at night before bed a few times this week- and I’ve really noticed a difference in my texture and health of my hair. The forumla is amazing, it is a serum that is unlike any serum I’ve used before. Unlike Biosilk, or drugstore serums this one is is not goopy or thick. The serum has been formulated without silicones, sulfates, parabens and waxes. The treatment is very complex in vitamins, and just sort of melts into the skin. The end result of using this product is to have stronger, healthier, fuller hair. Also, using this treatment claims to improve hair growth!

The last and my personal favorite of the Ouidad trio- is the Exfoliating treatment. I think Ouidad could sell this product on the scent alone! It’s infused with sugar cane, lemon and apple extracts, as well as Bamboo and the Bay Leaf oil for exfoliation. This is the first scalp exfoliator product on the market, and it’s amazing. It is used for oily or dry scalps, excessive product build up, dryness, etc. Think of this product as a face wash with exfoliating beads- for your head! Right after shampooing, I used a quarter-sized amount and massaged it into my scalp. This product keeps the roots of hair clean and inspires hair growth. After using this treatment just once, my scalp felt clean, fresh and hydrated. I think this product will be Ouidad’s best seller!

All 3 products are at home treatments, giving hair that TLC it deserves! We are constantly coloring, cutting, styling, using heat and damaging our hair, we never really think about the things we put out hair through! These treatments help to bring our hair back to its original state- healthy, shiny, soft, nourished, hydrated and strong. After testing out these new treatments at home this week, I am very impressed! All 3 treatments are unique, effective and simple to use.

Will you be trying out these Ouidad Salon Series products at home?

Getting Lippy: Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color

August 26, 2011

Urban Decay super-saturated high gloss lip color.

Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color is a new lippy from Urban Decay‘s Fall 2011 collection available exclusively at Sephora. There are five shades: F-Bomb (bright red),  Adrenaline (bright fuchsia sparkle), Crush (hot pink), Big Bang (bright pink sparkle) and Punch Drunk (bright orange). Cute names, right? I’m trying out Adrenaline because it gave me LIFE plus it had a lot of sparkle. Yes, I’m having a superficial lippy moment.

Adrenaline is such a fierce color but I did find the lippy to be a little bit gritty due to the sparkles. C’est la vie. I love a chubby pencil because I feel like I can get a better grasp on the pencil – plus I love the word chubby. The product is a bit soft so it applies smoothly. The only minor problem with the consistency of this chubby pencil a lot of product is going to get stuck in your sharpener – so remember to store it in a cool place. But even with that minor flaw the color payoff is pretty impressive; I just wish that they came in more colors!

Have you tried this new lippy?
