Over the past months I have avoided the nail polish shatter/crackle craze. If you’re not familiar with Crackle or Krakl nail polish (as Duri calls it) it’s a formula that literally forms cracks over another shade of polish after it dries. The more Krakl polish that you apply the bigger the pattern- so you can control how big or how little you want the cracks on your nails to be. Duri Cosmetics has launched a collection of 4 new Krakl polishes for Fall 2011 and I am swatching Duri Madame de Pompadour Krackl with Duri Night Before Christmas.
My initial thoughts about Krakl nail polish are that it’s fun, youthful and perfect for a teen or a younger woman. I don’t know that this is something that I would wear to an office meeting but I’d certainly use this polish for a festive event or holiday.
What are your thoughts on Krakl nail polish?

I think that after i spend upwards of a half hour on my manicure, the last thing i want to do is paint over it with crackle polish. However on day 3 or 4 when my manicure is starting to look a little beat-up anyway, it’s a good way to get another day or 2 out of it.

That’s a really great idea to wait a few days!
