Review: Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores

June 26, 2012

Origins Clear Improvement® Active charcoal mask to clear pores .

In my twenties I had my first office job, which was a big deal. I got to dress up and wear nice suits and pretty shoes to work, I felt like a real adult. With my new job came a whole new world of working in “the city” and shopping in the city which was new to me. I usually did all of my shopping locally in Queens but now I had lots of options. And one of the first places that I shopped was Lord & Taylor. I remember heading to their beauty department on the first floor and moving from counter to counter in awe. There were more beauty products than I could ever have imagined and I was in heaven.

One day I headed to Lord & Taylor on a mission and that was to invest in some really good skin care products. As I may have mentioned before I’ve always had problematic, acne prone skin. And in my twenties my acne was just as bad as it was in my teen years. So I decided to upgrade myself from the drugstore brands and take a chance with something a little more high-end. That’s when I saw the Origins counter with its clean green and white aesthetic and I was intrigued. Within a few minutes at the beauty counter I had a product recommendation, Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask. As soon I as I got home I gave the mask a try, after all the sales lady said that it would help clear my pores and make them smaller. But what really astonished me was that the mask actually loosed and removed some small blackheads.

Well over the years I’ve used many mud masks, mostly because there were so many options. But recently on a mini shopping spree to Sephora I again came across the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores and I decided to get it, I haven’t used the mask in years! And just like hanging with an old friend and all of the memories came rushing back to me. This Origins mask is amazing! I would even consider it a holy grail beauty product.

With this mask you don’t need to use a lot of product, after cleansing you face use a warm towel to open pores and apply a thin layer and let it dry. The mask is made with White China Clay which absorbs environmental toxins and Lecithin which dissolves impurities. The mask take about 15 minutes to dry. I must warn that the mask will begin to tingle a bit and when it dries it feels really, really tight. But once you wash it off, it will all be worth it. The mask washes off clean and doesn’t leave any residue behind. What I immediately noticed was that my skin looked smoother, pores were smaller and my skin looked much brighter.

Now that I have one of my favorite masks again I’ll try to use it 1-2 times per week to keep oil and acne away and of course to keep my pores as small and unnoticeable as possible. Have your tried Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores ?

I love masks- they make me feel like I’ve pampered myself and with a 5 year old screaming mommmy mommy that’s not easy to do.

Does the mask have sulfur in it? I hear that’s really good for the skin.

I do love Origins! I have their Night A Mins overnight vitamins for the neck and face! Even though I’m in my twenties, I am a fanatic about my skin and anti-aging products. I’d be interested in trying this mask out too, since my skin is super oily!

I wanted to also tell you I nominated you for The Versatile Blogger Award. I enjoy reading all of your posts regarding beauty/make-up, since I’m pretty uneducated when it comes to that field myself! If you want to learn more about the award, go to my blog: http://wp.me/p1XGN3-Ij
