Review: Natural Essentials Dry Oil

Natural Essentials Dry Oil is created for dry and damaged hair. Dry hair feels like a battle that I’ve had for the longest time. With so many products on the market it’s hard to discern which ones will work best for your hair. Everyone is different and what works for one person may not work for someone else.

This treatment appealed to me because of all of the oil blends that it contains. I do prefer using natural products when I can but I’m open to trying whatever works. This dry oil contains:

  • Monoi – Derived from the petals of Tahitian gardenias, this exotic flower extract is remarkably silk & fast absorbing, leaving hair soft & shiny.
  • Dragonfruit – A superfruit, indigenous to Central America, is high in antioxidants & vitamins that hydrate hair.
  • Camellia – Native to Japan, this beauty secret of the Geishas is rich in Vitamins A, B & E & has been used for centuries to add moisture & elasticity to hair.

Natural Essentials Dry Oil is cruelty-free and free of Sulfates, Parabens, Alcohol, Phthalates, Gluten, Artificial Colors. It does however contain Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethiconol which are silicon-based polymers that gives hair the appearance of smoothness and moisture. The Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethiconol are the first two ingredients so this dry “oil” is not exactly completely oil but contains ingredients that mimic moisture. This product is also not natural as the name implies – it does however contain several oils but who can determine how much oil is actually used in this formula.

Aside from the fact that these products are not purely oils they do perform fairly well in delivering high shine and smoothness to hair. They also happen to smell incredibly fragrant and exotic, which is something that I love in a hair care product. Great smelling hair is a beauty must and Natural Essentials does deliver in that area.

Have you tried Natural Essentials Dry Oil, $9.99?
