I’m always on the hunt for a great shampoo and conditioner. So when I saw Miss Jessie’s Crème de la Curl Cleansing Crème ($16) and Conditioner ($16) at my local drugstore I threw them in my basket immediately.
I’ve been growing out my relaxed hair for a while now and I really enjoy testing out products made just for curly hair. I’ve been a fan of Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding for many years but I have not used many of their other products. And this shampoo and conditioner duo seemed like a great set to test out.
The shampoo really caught my eye because its not like your run of the mill shampoos on the market, it has a creamy texture to it just like a conditioner would. So when I finally tried it I must say that I was in love, it’s one of the best shampoos that I’ve tried in a time. The most noticeable benefit was that it did not strip my hair like so many other do. I’m not a fan of that squeaky clean feeling because that means that all of the natural oils in your hair have been washed down the drain. And when that happens it leads to frizziness and hair breakage, which nobody wants!
The conditioner is lightweight for daily use or a leave-in treatment, it has a similar consistency to the shampoo. I liked it as a leave-in treatment but I prefer a thicker, creamier type of conditioner for my parched hair. I had to use a handful of conditioner to detangle my hair, which is a lot considering the conditioner is about $16. I think it’s a great conditioner for someone with hair that isn’t dried out but for me, I just wasn’t enough, I had to add some olive oil to my hair to moisturize it. I’d definitely get the shampoo again, I liked how it didn’t strip my hair but I’ll pass on the conditioner and get a deep conditioning treatment instead.
