Like my post on snail slime, I thoroughly admit that although I am curious about the latest innovation in beauty, I do not buy into the hype. Cause honestly, the hype is pretty darn expensive. But thanks to IPSY, the hype costs way less, and my curiosity satisfied. And January’s glam bag was the perfect opportunity for me to get my hands on the latest miracle product: Argan Oil, Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil to be exact.
Argan oil is extracted from the kernel of the argan tree, native to Morocco, and in the olden times, was used for cooking and for cosmetics. Now, it is the latest miracle worker when it comes to all problems beauty-related. It is reputed to do numerous things that include: anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, heals scar tissue, makes the nails strong, sun protection and strengthens hair. And I can see, when it comes to the chemical components that make up argan oil, that it really lives up to the hype (a rare occurrence!). Argan Oil has high levels of omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids as well as vitamin E.
I was curious to try this product because the claims were aptly sound based on the ingredients. I’ve tried this product on my cuticles and the ends of my hair. I refuse to put it on my face because I have sensitive skin and I would be prone to breaking out (almond oil AND coconut oil was a huge no-no on my face).
My hair did not feel strong and became excessively greasy despite very little application. On the other hand, my nails WERE AMAZING just after two day application. It looked and felt strong, smooth and ready to be abused via nail polish.
So yes, I would definitely recommend this oil to anyone who is willing to spend the money and want to go 100% au naturel. It is a great product with many uses.
