On Day 2 of New York Fashion Week, I attended the Ports 1961 show. Designer Fiona Cibani drew inspiration for her collection from a trip to the Sahara. The gold and neutral tones were representative of the sand and blues were inspired by the desert sky. The collection was comprised of elegant loose fitting separates as well and long flowing evening gowns. Most of the pieces were neutrals however there was a “pop” of vibrant color added to remind us that it’s still Spring.
What do you think of this collection? Are you a fan of the neutral trend?
Lady Bouvier says
The truth is that the show was beautiful, wearable, and modern, but gets docked points for a lack of innovation. A collection that references the 1970s but doesn’t look “retro” will sell well, and the two show-ending gowns are bound to end up on the red carpet.

I agree, the collection was stunning and the final gown was my absolute favorite.
