For five consecutive years Women’s Health Magazine has chosen some of the best beauty products around as award worthy and shared them with their readers. The time has come again for the Women’s Health 2011 Beauty Awards. With the help of their readers and a panel of 16 dermatologists, nine hair stylists, seven makeup artists and two colorists, 68 beauty products were chosen. All parties cast secret ballots disclosing their top picks in 28 categories across hair, makeup, face and body. I was honored to be among the press at the announcement of the winning products. We tested, examined and asked questions of the Beauty Director and Beauty Editors. The product assortment was a mix of drugstore brands and prestige brands. I even saw some of my favorites were among the winners.
This is just a small sample of the winners:
BEST MOISTURIZER – Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
BEST AT-HOME HAIR COLOR – L’Oreal Paris Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Colour
BEST BLUSH- Nars Blush in Orgasm
BEST LIP GLOSS – Chanel Glossimer
BEST FOUNDATION – Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10
During the awards reception we were treated to cocktails, manicures, eyebrow grooming, makeup touch ups and mini massages. I enjoyed a much needed manicure and eyebrow grooming. The brow professional gave me great tips on grooming my thin brows. She also suggested that I be careful when applying products like serums and moisturizers on my brows because they can clog the hair follicles and prevent hair from growing back. I did not know that! So obviously I had to share that little tip with my readers.
You can check out all 68 winning products in the June issue of Women’s Health or here.

What a fun event to be part of. I love these types of awards because they help clueless consumers like myself make beauty and cosmetics choices.
