New York City is an amazing place that I’m so proud to call my home. Like most New Yorkers we love our city simply because there is no place like it in the world! I can pass through the same neighborhood a hundred times and always see something new. New York is a lively city with a colorful cast of characters, unparalleled art, culture, fine dining and let’s not forget shopping. It’s just one of those places where you can see anything, do anything and enjoy anything at any given hour of the day.
So when I’m walking around NYC, especially Manhattan, I love really being aware and in the moment. While I’m walking around I’m taking in the sights, sounds and all of the visual stimulation around me. After all you never know who you’re going to see or what you’re going to see, remember when I saw Tim Gunn?! Well while strolling though Midtown Manhattan yesterday I came across these two HUGE bears sitting on a bench.
So of course I had to take a picture with these bears. They were so cute!
However the bears weren’t too accomodating…but I just squeezed in any way. Once I sat down they couldn’t keep their paws off of me so I had to get out of there! LOL.
So I headed down the street to Lord & Taylor (one of my favorite stores) to check out their window displays. With the holiday season upon us you can always expect NYC department stores to step up their window displays. The displays are something that a lot of people look forward to, in fact it gets so crowded that most stores have to use velvet ropes! With all of the holiday cheer surrounding this time of year it always turns me into a BIG mush and I love to sing Christmas carols, bake cookies and of course visit “The Tree”. It’s always fun to grab a cup of cocoa and visit the various window displays throughout the city. Well Lord & Taylor was the first store that I saw so far and it didn’t disappoint with it’s beautifully animated perfect holiday scenes.
All of this happened within an hour, all I can say is that frolicking through New York City is never dull. But then again, life is what you make it. Right? Till next time!
