The new fragrance Summer Escape by CLEAN is the quintessential summer perfume. From the description that I read, I was expecting something a bit more beachy (and reminiscent of suntan oil) but alas it was not. While the scent is strong it does not give a sensory overload, the crisp citrusy notes do stand out. Summer Escape has top notes of Bergamont, Beach Grass, and Mandarin Orange; mid notes of Water Lily, Peony, Beach Honeysuckle, Orange Flower; and base notes of Cotton Blossom, White Sand Accord, Driftwood, and Coconut Water.
Although the scent was not as beachy as I’d hoped that it would be, the scent is beautiful none-the-less. I could easily see myself spritzing on this fragrance and hopping in the car for a weekend getaway at Fire Island. It scent just reminded me of those beautifully sunny hot summer days where I would lounge at the beach under an umbrella and just relax the time away. I simply cannot help but smell my wrists every few minutes, which is my litmus test to see if a fragrance is wearable. This scent is not only wearable but positively intoxicating.
The Limited Edition Summer Escape is $49 for 60 mL, and is available at Sephora and CLEAN.
