It’s beyond cost-prohibitive here in Tokyo to get a manicure or pedicure as we know them in the U.S., but nail art is the thing to do, and a manicure means nail art here. Of course, many folks buy the fake nail version at stores around the city and just apply them at home- I’ve seen people loading shopping bags with around 20 at a time- and they are not cheap even as fake nails- probably at least $10/set if not $20 depending on where you’re buying them.
