Recently, I was invited to review the spa services of Asanda Aveda Spa Lounge located in the Soho area of Manhattan. Grounded in the principles of Eastern holistics and aromatherapy; this full service spa and salon offers everything from hair styling to makeup applications to spa services.

I visit Soho quite often and I hadn’t even realized that the spa was there, it just opened up in May and is quietly tucked away in an office building. I was scheduled for a facial and a chakra balancing massage.

The spa has a crisp, clean, almost sterile aesthetic with huge loft style windows. I love beautiful decor and the interior was quite striking with a pretty chandelier at the entrance.

 

In the front of the spa is the waiting area and the salon as well as a makeup application station for for a celebrity. As you walk through the back there is a manicure station with bright artwork.

 Once I arrived to my treatment room I received the chakra balancing massage first. When I arrived, I’d been given chakra cards with different words and colors on them. I chose the three that resonated with me the best. I was then asked to smell the scents that corresponded to each of the cards and I ended up choosing a solar plexus chakra card. I found it to be quote ironic and accurate but that is the chakra that I work on the most when I practice Reiki. The massage was deeply relaxing and I really enjoyed the aromatherapy element because it really adds to the who relaxing experience.

After the massage I had a signature facial with a very kind esthetician. We discussed how important it is to get regular facials especially during the change of seasons. The facial included a deep cleansing with steam, skin analysis, a gentle exfoliation followed by a customized moisturizing botanical masque, extractions and a deeply relaxing shoulder. Overall it was very relaxing except for the extractions but the end result was worth it – squeaky clean pores! After my facial I was given a hot cup of tea to relax in the lounge.

Overall I had a great time at Asanda Aveda Spa Lounge, the space was beautiful and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Have you visited Asanda Aveda Spa Lounge?
