If you love to do your own manicures at home, your least favorite part is probably removing the old chipped nail polish. Personally I cannot stand it when my nail polish begins to chip away; it always looks so messy and it makes me want to hide my hands. So I usually stock my beauty bag with nail polish remover for quick clean-ups between manicures.
As a beauty product in itself, I never really gave too much thought about nail polish remover; I usually just picked up a bottle of whatever was on sale. I really try to take the time to eat the right things, read food labels and take care of myself. So what don’t I read the ingredients on my beauty products? Well recently I’ve started to pay attention to the ingredients inside some of my favorite beauty products and I was not happy. We’re all aware that nail polish remover doesn’t smell o great but were you aware that there are toxic ingredients in some of these products?
There are lots of beauty options so I decided to try Priti NYC Soy Nail Polish Remover. This remover is 100 percent biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-carcinogenic PLUS the soy and corn base is derived from organic farm crops. This remover is always infused with moisturizing coconut oil and essential lemongrass oils, that leave a sweet citrus-y scent behind.
The most noticeable difference with this soy based remover was that there was no harsh chemical smell, that alone makes it worth while. After using the remover my cuticles were well moisturized, which I attribute to the delicious smelling lemongrass oil. The remover works just as well as regular remover except that it takes a little more time to remove. But since you’re not breathing in any carcinogenics then I’d say that it’s certainly worth a little more elbow grease. The real payoff of course is using a product that not only works wells but is good for you and good for the environment.
The remover can be purchased in individually wrapped packets or a in very cool apothecary style bottle. I like individual wipes because they are great for travel and I somehow always manage to spill my nail polish remover while in transit. The individual cotton pads are fairly thick and hold a good amount of remover, one pad was enough to remove all of the nail polish from both of my hands. Needless to say, I’ve become a Priti NYC fan. Have you tried this soy nail polish remover?
