Aren’t you over the Winter already? I know I am. And looking at some fresh Spring beauty items always helps!
NYX Cosmetics, a budget friendly and cruelty free makeup line has a whole NEW beautiful collection of makeup goodies to get you ready for the season. I decided to highlight some of the best of the collection because the collection is HUGE!
NYX Butter Gloss has 12 delicious new shades. These glosses has earned their name because they feel buttery smooth on your lips. The gloss also smells delectable, Nyx describes the scent as a sugar cookie and I’d have to agree!
The gloss is smooth, not sticky and it seemed to melt right into my lips. This formula gives medium coverage, not ultra sheer and certainly not lipstick opaque. So it gives a fair amount of color that you can build up a little. The gloss has a great shine and sufficient moisture so wearing it alone is great. You can also layer it on top of your favorite lipstick for a little more intensity and shine.
UP close and personal…
Another winner from the Spring 2013 collection is the NYX Born to Glow, Liquid Illuminator. I’m a bronzer girl, it is hands down one of my favorite makeup items besides lipstick. With little bronzer and a little lipstick you can fake a great nights sleep or a sun-kissed tan. So I wear bronzers year round and usually more than one at a time – I like to layer sheer colors.
The NYX Illuminator is comes in Sunbeam which is a pale pink pearl shimmer and Gleam with is a golden peach pearl shimmer. The Gleam shade is gives a great glowy look and it’s like a sheer bronzer. Sunbeam is great as a highlighter or mixed in your foundation to add a bit of shimmer.
A closer look…
For Spring 2013, NYX was all about the eyes. In total there are 44 new palettes available…that’s a lot of eyeshadow.
I picked three of my favorite color combinations from the Love in Florence Eyes Palette. These are 5-color eyeshadow palettes with complementary colors. NYX also created a set of 9-color and 3-color palettes giving us lots of options!
Bellini Kiss is my favorite out of the eyeshadow palettes because it’s so warm and perfect for Spring. The colors are rich but not overly pigmented; they’re buildable if you want a more intense look. I like it subtle so these work nicely for everyday makeup.
