It’s officially been confirmed that H&M’s latest collaboration is with Paris fashion house, Lanvin! Here is what Lanvins’ Creative Director, Alber Elbaz had to say: “I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H & M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.” The collection will include 30 women’s pieces, 15 women’s accessories and 25 menswear pieces and approximately 10 men’s accessories.

H&M has collaborated with brand such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Sonia Rykiel, and Comme des Garçons. Fashionistas can view the collection on Nov. 2 on hm.com via a video presentation. The collection will be available Nov. 23, 2010 in 200 H&M stores worldwide.
Although I’d heard the rumors, I was still a bit surprised about this partnership with the oldest French fashion house in operation. The real test will be whether H&M can live up to the standards of high fashion that Lanvin is know for. I will anxiously be awaiting the new collection and perhaps even picking up a piece or two. I’m curious to know what everyone thinks about this collaboration, is it a hit or miss for Lanvin?
