Last week I attended the HBA Global Expo at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in NYC. The weather was horrific but I managed to brave the rain storm and make it in time for the keynote speech by Pamela Baxter, President/CEO LVMH Group. Pamela was phenomenal, she was funny, a great storyteller and of course very informative of how the beauty industry has changed over the years. Pamela’s keynote was a great way to start off the expo, so I’m glad that I made it!

Supermodel Christie Brinkley was presented with the HBA Positively Beautiful award for her philanthropic support of Smile Train, a non-profit that provides free cleft surgery for millions of poor children in developing countries. Christie gave a moving speech detailing how the fate of these children who cannot afford this $250 surgery.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay too long but I did make my way around the booths to check out the vendors. I came across an eco-beauty brand that I just had to share with you. It’s called LA Fresh and they make a variety of on the go personal care items such as acetone-free nail polish remover, oil-free face cleanser, waterproof makeup remover etc. all in single use packets. Best of all they contain delicious ingredient like cucumber, oat, aloe and vitamin. So go check them out!
