Mastering Taylor Swift’s Best Hair Looks

December 19, 2014

Taylor Swift’s is a girls girl. She’s uber feminine and definitely the girl you’d love as a BFF. She’s a lover of fashion and simple yet beautiful hairstyle. Here are a few ways that you can master her best hair looks! After combing through Taylor’s hottest hairstyles, celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena whose clients include Marie Louise Parker, Nina Garcia, and Audrina Patridge shows you how you can achieve some of Taylor Swifts best hair looks using Keratin Complex products:

LOOK 1: SMOOTH AND STRAIGHT

Get the look: Taylor Swift

  • Treat your hair to Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy, the original in-salon treatment that infuses keratin into the hair, reducing frizz while instantly adding shine.
  • After blow-drying with a flat-paddled brush, finish with Keratin Complex Straight Day Styling Spray ($24) to smooth the hair, reduce flyaways and tame unwanted frizz.

LOOK 2: WINDSWEPT WAVES

  • After using spiral curlers to curl the hair, brush out the curls with a round brush.
  • Pump 1-2 pumps of Keratin Complex Shine ($19) and rub between hands. Work though hair from root to tip. Shine’s unique blend of precious oils and keratin protein oils provide a vibrant, silky shine.
  • Follow with 2-3 sprays of Keratin Complex Flex Flow Finishing Hairspray ($25), providing a flexible, brushable hold.

LOOK 3: SHINY CURLSTayor Swift Hairstyle

  • Use the Keratin Complex Five-In-One Curler ($199) to curl the hair. The Five-In-One’s unique all-tourmaline cones promote smoother, silkier curls while its infrared technology locks in moisture during styling, preventing frizz and excess hair damage.
  • Finish with Keratin Complex Bold Hold Maximum Finishing Hairspray ($25), which delivers a powerful hold perfect for giving a long-lasting grip to wavy, curly styles.

LOOK 4: WET-LOOK WAVES

Taylor Swift Wavy Hair

  • After towel-drying hair, spray Keratin Complex Lift off Root Amplifying Styling Gel ($25) on the roots of the hair. The blend of keratin, humectants and wheat protein boost moisture while polymers lift the root with a moveable hold.
  • Follow with 2 pumps of Keratin Complex Vita Volume Boosting Foam ($25) and work into hair from root to tip, while pulling the hair backwards and out of the face. The non-greasy, lightweight mousse moisturizes while lifting the hair and the anti-aging keratin and oat proteins make hair more resistant to damage and breakage.

Get the Look: Solange Knowles at the 2013 Met Gala

May 6, 2013

One of my favorite beauty moments at the Met Gala for me was Solange Knowles. The smokey eyes an the neutral lip are not quite punk but so pretty nonetheless. NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Benjamin Puckey to create the beauty look for Solange Knowles.
Beauty Inspiration: “I really focused on a strong eye with punk influences for Solange’s look. The smoky eye gave an edge to the whole look, which is very much what she’s into right now – a smoky eye with lots of lash. We felt it complemented the dress so well because of the black and blue print and chose a nude lip to keep the focus on the eye.” ~Benjamin Puckey

Diane Kendal for NARS Cosmetics wanted to create a look inspired by flawless skin and natural brows. I love this more natural look for Spring, it’s so clean and fresh.

It’s a minimal look that we achieved using skincare and complexion products,” said Kendal.  “Because the collection boasts minimal tones, we did the same thing for the makeup and focused on flawless, matte skin. Kirsten Dunst makeup look at the Met Gala 2012

Kirsten Dunst rocked the Met Gala, with a warm complexion and light, shimmering makeup.  Celebrity makeup artist Dawn DeSantis gives us the beauty breakdown on how to get Kirstens look at home using Too Faced makeup!

Apricot/Peach-Colored Cheeks: “Apply to color apples of cheeks for a sunny glow to add a pop of color to the face—any powder blushes or cream blushes are great for this and easy to apply with fingertips.”

Product to use:

Too Faced Full Bloom Lip & Cheek Crème Color ($21) – pigment-rich, creamy blush blends effortlessly onto cheeks and lips flushing them with luminous color.

Shimmering Eyes: “Apply a wash of golden-toned warm shadow lightly to lids only and blend to make more subtle. Layer with a cooler shimmery shadow applied only in the inner corners of eyes to brighten up the eyes in a more dramatic way. Use any pale light pastel color, such as pale purple, white or even silver!”

Product to use:

Too Faced Glamour Dust Glitter Pigment ($17) – A new generation of glitter emerges within this loose and luxurious pigment powder that merges all the glamour of glitter with an ethereal feminine and fabulous effect. Sophisticated shades enhance existing eye shadows or look lovely when worn alone.

Summery, Natural Lips: “Go for a peach/apricot or nude colored lip to finish off the look. Choose a creamy lip color with a hint of glisten to create a brighter pout.”

Product to use:

Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Barely Legal ($19) – A luxurious, long-wearing lip gloss that comes in fourteen richly-pigmented shades with a touch of shimmer. This exclusive formula is enriched with Too Faced’s Lip Injection Comfort Plump for subtle plumping and cooling effects.
