While browsing through my emails I came across an ad for a new summer nail polish. Of course it was limited edition so I rushed over to Lord & Taylor but found out that the shade was already sold out. 🙁 So since I was on the beauty floor I decided to check out some other brands to see what summer shades could tempt me to buy them. I immediately went to the Chanel counter because I was a big fan of their Le Khaki colors. The saleswoman showed me their new summer shade called Mimosa, a bight lemony color with very fine sparkles.

Honestly yellow doesn’t immediately come to mind for a nail polish shade but I’d also thought the same about orange until I tried it. So I thought to myself, why not give a yellow polish a shot?

From some other beauty blogs that I read, yellow polishes tend to be either really good or really streaky and this formula falls into the latter category. I’m not great at giving myself manicures BUT after attempting to get a streak-free application THREE times I gave up. I truly ADORED the tiny flecks of glitter that are apparent in the nail polish bottle but the look did not at all translate onto my nails. The formula is opaque but applies streaky, even with a base coat. I love the color but alas I will not be wearing this shade.
