Paris Fashion Week: Lanvin S/S 2011

Normally I would not cover Paris Fashion Week simply because I’m not there. However this is Lanvin and this runway show is EPIC. Of course now I won’t be able to eat for a week after seeing the impossibly skinny models but hey that’s the price you have to pay for fashion! Lanvin designer Alber Elbas filled the runway with a mix of long pleated skirts split open at the sides, pantsuits and elongated jackets. Celebrity attendees such as Janet Jackson, Lenny Kravitz and Dita Von Teese were in the house.

Taylor Momsen for Parlez-Moi d'Amour

Gossip Girl starlet Taylor Momsen can’t seem to stay busy enough! Between Taylors’ role on the hit TV series Gossip Girl, her band: The Pretty Reckless, and her “Material Girl” ad campaign this rising star is unstoppable. The teen starlet was just chosen as the face of Galliano’s latest fragrance Parlez-Moi d’Amour. Galliano hand picked the actress to be the face of his fragrance targeted at women ages 16 to 30. The translation of Parlez-Moi D’Amour means “Speak to me about love”. I wonder what about Momsen “spoke” to Galliano and said that she was the one?

The perfume will be bottled in a rectangular bottle with an envelope design; evoking the feeling of a a hand-written love letter. John Galliano Parlez-Moi D’Amour is a fruity floral with the following fragrance notes:

Top Notes: blueberry, bergamot

Middle Notes: rose, jasmine

Base Notes: patchouli, musk, cypress

The fragrance will be launched in mid October 2010.

Edition Georges Chakra S/S 2011

Established in 1985 as a designer of customized gowns, the Edition Georges Chakra line has evolved into so much more. Georges Chakra is now an haute couture house that has dressed A-list celebrities such as Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton and Fergie. George Chakra prides himself on each collection being completely different from the previous collection. Chakra believes: “Everything is in the detail, luxury is in the details” and we couldn’t agree more.

This was the first Edition Georges Chakra show that we’ve attended and this was by far one of the best collections of New York Fashion Week. Chakra has the ability to turn a little black dress into something nothing less than extraordinary; his incredible attention to beading and texture does not go unnoticed in his S/S 2011 collection. This collection featured mini dresses as well as floor length gowns in black, jewel tones, and metallic hues that were sophisticated and feminine.

“Chakra’s designs celebrate the woman’s body, and for the summer 2011 collection, the designer emphasized and sculpted the female form by surrounding it with a set of satin straps – sometimes parallel, other times crisscrossed – transforming his creations into glamorous and extremely contemporary looks.”

Fashion Week always brings out Hollywood royalty. Let’s see who we spotted in the tents at Lincoln Center!

Gird your loans because Anna Wintour was in the house at BCBGMAXAZRIA. She (and her bodyguard passed inches from me) and I channeled Rachel Zoe because I was about to D.I.E. this was EPIC.

Also spilling the Chai Tea in the front row at BCBGMAXAZRIA was stylist to the stars June Ambrose. *Swoon*

In the front row of Edition Georges Chakra was Kelly Rowland, loving the white after Labor Day.

Reality show darling Whitney Port was spotted in the TRESemme Lounge.

Spotted in the front row of Farah Angsana was Alex McCord of the reality show Real Housewives of New York.

Beauty Breakdown: Rose Byrne’s Emmy look

Harry Josh, John Frieda International Creative Consultant gives us the beauty breakdown on Rose Byrne’s Emmy look:

Harry prepped Rose’s hair for one week before the red carpet by prescribing John Frieda’s Root Awakening Health Infusing Shampoo & Conditioner.

HOW TO GET ROSE’S EMMY LOOK:

· Luxurious Volume Bountiful Body Mousse was applied to Rose’s wet hair and then blown out using a boar-bristle brush. The mousse helped Harry achieve high volume hair that would easily mold into the curls he was about to create—and the product gave a great texturized base, which Harry needed to create the look.

· Harry used a 3/4-inch curling iron throughout her hair and pulled a portion of the curls into a ponytail at the crown of her head. He then pulled her hair into a high bun, pulling out individual curls for a Grecian-inspired style with a modern twist.

· Harry secured the style by spraying Luxurious Volume All-Out Hold Hairspray to maintain volume and hold.
