Every now and then my skin revolts against me and pimples erupt all over my face like acne is going out of style. Panic ensues and I frantically dig through my beauty bin for something to apply to my face. And when this happens I baby my skin until it’s returned to it’s previously unblemished state.
So when a slew of pimples and blackheads erupted on my cheeks (thanks to much resting my hand on my face – bad beauty blogger!) I reached for my most gentle products. While digging through my stash I came across a new product that I had yet to try, Blue Lagoon Iceland Silica Mud Mask.
I knew that I had to be gentle YET I had to deep clean my clogged pores. So I took a look at the tube to assess the benefits of the ingredients and I saw the following:
- Hypoallergenic
- Dermatologically tested
- Fragrance Free
- Color Free
Awesome! So I decided to give the mask a try because I’ve had success with mud masks and charcoal mask clearing out my clogged pores. This mask was a bit different because instead of a muddy color the mask is white because it contains geothermal silica mud. The silica mud exfoliates, deep cleans, soothes and softens the skin. The consistency of the mud is much thicker and creamier than you would find in your typical mud mask. After applying the mask to my already cleansed face I waited about 5 minutes to rinse and assess my results. Honestly I was surprised at how smooth my face was, I had doubts that the mask would help to exfoliate my skin but it was so smooth – and clear. My mind was immediately at ease. One thing that I did notice was dryness…yes my usually oily skin was dry. So I wasted no time in applying my serum and moisturizer.
Overall I loved the mask, it left my skin polished and clear. One minor mention that I must say is that my skin was a little dried out but since I always apply a toner, serum and moisturizer it felt fine afterward.
