Getting Lippy: Naked Princess Luscious Lip Gloss

May 15, 2012

Naked Princess Luscious Lip Gloss

This week we are looking at new lip gloss for ladies that like a seriously sexy nude lip, Naked Princess Naked Shine Luscious Lip Gloss. Naked Shine, love the name, is a lightweight gloss infused with Shea better, sweet almond oil and antioxidants for youthfully soft lips. This gloss delivers a super high shine with just a hint of color and smells insanely delicious thanks to Moroccan Vanilla.

Naked Princess also makes some very sexy lingerie, it’ what they’re known for. So its only natural that I think of this makeup as boudoir makeup, the kind that’s sexy enough to turn heads but not messy enough to ruin your silk sheets. Besides whenever I think of the brand name, a picture of a woman wearing nothing but a diamond tiara is immediately conjured up into my imagination. Damn you Freud!

Back at the ranch…when Naked Princess says that their lip gloss delivers a naked shine, they’re not lying, their gloss gives a high shine and subtle pigment with shades like Barely Rose or Barely Naked. I swatched all of the shades and each swatch below shows at least two coats of gloss.

On a side note I’d like to shout out Naked Princess for being a cruelty-free company that doesn’t use any Parabens, Phthalates or synthetic dyes. Their makeup is also clinically and allergy tested and found to be non-irritating. Woo Hoo!

Now with a sheer lip gloss like Naked Princess you must have perfectly smooth lips before application. Right? Here is where the Naked Princess Naked Sugar Lovely Lip Polish comes in, it’s an ultra finely ground sugar scrub to exfoliate your lips. The scrub has a subtle mint flavor and nourishes lips with Vitamin E and Shea Butter. The sugar is so fine that it will dissolve away or can be rinsed away, plus Naked Sugar can also be used on dry cuticles! How sweet is that?

Do you like sheer lip gloss or do your prefer a more pigmented gloss?

Review: Smooth Essentials Coconut and Lime Sugar Body Scrub

April 14, 2012

Smooth Essentials Coconut and Lime Sugar Body Scrub

Sometimes you don’t know that you actually need a certain beauty product until you try it out. That was me with body scrubs. I just didn’t know how good they are until I rubbed my hands down my legs and felt the incredible silky smoothness. One hot shower with a body scrub and I was completely sold on the idea. Scrubs exfoliate your skin which does a wonderful job of removing dry dead skin cells to reveal brighter and healthier-looking skin – plus its a great prep before shaving. And now that summer is quickly approaching and we’re going to be showing off a lot more skin exfoliation should be a priority.

I recently received a sample of Smooth Essentials Coconut and Lime Sugar Body Scrub and the smell immediately had me hooked. I had to take a second whiff: “Whoa…this smells incredible!” I mean seriously this scrub smells good enough to eat.

Two showers later and I’m still kind of obsessed with this scrub. The sugar melts in the shower but lasts long enough to polish the dryness away leaving behind nothing but soft and silky skin. There aren’t any icky parabens, sulfates or mineral oil in this jar- plus this scrub is cruelty-free! With the quadruple combination of Sunflower Oil, Shea Butter, Rice Bran Oil and Jojoba Oil your skin is left  supple without feeling greasy. I also ove the soft sheen left behind, my skin wasn’t oily at all! I think we found a winner!

Me Bath: Ice Cream, Bath Dream!

February 17, 2010

Okay…I will be the first to admit that I am a bit superficial, I like pretty things. Well not just pretty things but nicely packaged, quality pretty things. For me packaging is as important as the product. The packaging shows me that the company really cares about the product and it’s image. So when I saw this oh so cutely packaged body scrub in an ice cream tub my heart leapt. Yes my heart literally skipped a beat and I thought wow this is so cute! I am a fan of body scrubs (well almost every beauty product) but I am partial to bath products. For me bath time is a ritual where I get to wash a way all of the “bad” that happened during the day. Bath time is when I get a moment to myself, no spouse, no whining kiddies, no ringing phone just me and the sound of the water. Maybe it’s the Pisces in me or maybe I just love a nice bath but either way it’s part of my ME time.

Your ultimate spa at-home experienceME! Bath Lavendar Lullaby

So here comes the good part… ME! bath has created a delectable line of at home spa quality exfoliating sugar scrubs. The one above is called Lavender Lullaby and it’s infused with Lavendar, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E Oil. My skin felt silky smooth after my shower and a light fragrant scent of lavender lingered behind. I love how these scrubs come in 16 oz tubs just like your favorite cool confection. This line also comes in: Choco-holic, Gotta Have It Pomegranate, Hawaiian Lei, Land of Milk n Honey, Papaya Nectar, Strawberry Kiwi, Summer Rain and Vanilla Purity.

Delicious Lavender Scrub

Mmmm doesn’t this look good enough to eat! I cannot wait to scoop up a few more of these luxuries to experiment with and find out which one I love the best. If you sign up for the ME! Bath newsletter you will save 15% off your online order. A shower sherbet like the one pictured above will cost you $28 per 16oz tub. ME! Bath also carries several other lines to help you make bath time even more fun, seriously who can resist these ice cream inspired treats! I love this sweet scent and I enjoy how it helps me wind down at the end of the day. What’s your favorite way to relax at the end of the day?
