ghd black gloss styler

When I was asked to review the ghd Black Gloss Classic 1″ Styler I jumped at the chance. I’ve read many positive reviews and I couldn’t wait to put this styler to the test.

This limited edition styler has a pretty high gloss finish and is available is black or red. The ghd styler is effortless to use, its extremely lightweight, so its easy to travel with and it heats up in 30 seconds flat. The rounded barrel on the styler can be used to straighten or curl hair. And the 1 inch rounded barrel also makes it easy to get very close to the roots.

For the forgetful beauty lover, like myself, ghd has an automatic off switch. I can’t even begin to count the amount of times that I’ve left my curling iron or straightener iron on after use, so I love that it automatically shuts off after 30 minutes.

The plates on the styler are made from aluminum which is coated with a thin layer of an advanced ceramic coating. ghd says that this helps the plates to glide smoothly across the hair shaft and leaves hair looking shiny.  The styler heats to and  operates at 347F – 365F, and while I’m not a professional hairstylist, with temperatures like these, I think a heat styling product is a safe choice. I choose to use Heat Is On Daily Protective Styling Mist by blowpro to protect my locks.

The styler worked really well leaving my naturally curly smoother and straighter after passing it through the styler just one time. And it actually did look shinier after use, yes, I’ll admit that I was pleasantly surprised about that. Overall the styler did a great job and quickly and easily straightening my hair. Have you tried the ghd flat iron?
